+ WHAT IS RAW FOOD?

A raw food diet is predominately vegan with no animal products of any kind .  This "living" cuisine is prepared without cooking, grilling or steaming and is never heated above a temperature of 118 degrees.  This allows the nutrients and enzymes in the food to stay intact.  Raw foods are still essentially "living" when you eat them.  It is said that eating foods closest to their natural state allows the digestive system to cleanse itself and gives our bodies the nutrition it needs to heal and stay vibrant, young and healthy.  Eating a diet rich in raw foods has been linked to drastically improving and often times healing an array of different diseases and ailments.

I wrote Wild Plate with the intention of sculpting a universal book for everyone to enjoy.  Whether you're a carnivore, omnivore, vegetarian, vegan or raw foodie, it's a fun way to prepare and explore healthy decadent food that is satisfying to various palettes.  The book is a compilation of techniques, tricks and recipes I have developed over the last seven years as a professional working raw food chef.
