Amy's Green Pea Soup

Ingredients
Makes enough for a couple of meals worth
Split green peas (I would usually use about half a packet, so maybe 250grams?)
One onion
Bay leaves
Salt
Directions
Wash the Green Peas through and set aside
Cut up the onion and fry it in oil in a big pan, with some salt.
When they are getting nice and soft, add some boiling water and the green peas
You might need to keep adding more water as they get bigger.
Add a couple of dried bay leaves for taste (Pull them out as you eat it later)
Add salt to taste (I would suggest don't put too much, you can always add salt later. It tastes nicer if its not too salty sometimes)
Boil until the peas are soft (Roughly 20 minutes)
As the soup cools it will thicken, so if you reheat you might need to add more water
This can also be made using Yellow Split Peas, or Lentils.
